Overview: Explore the island of Oshima, where the traces of Japanese faith reside, and learn about the people of Oshima who have protected the “Island Inhabited by Gods.” The population of Oshima is gradually decreasing, and it is said that there will be approximately 100 residents in 25 years.

The purpose of this tour is to preserve the history and culture of the Japanese people and pass it on to future generations. It also aims to create industries on Oshima Island and make them a reality. The faith in Oshima Island has been preserved through taboos such as the requirement for ritual purification before entering the island and the prohibition of disclosing what is seen and heard on the island. These taboos have been maintained since ancient times when ancient rituals were performed. While today’s journey takes only two hours by boat with engines, in the past, it took many hours, and people risked their lives to reach Oshima Island. What drove them to do so? What was the significance of Oshima Island? This tour offers a chance to experience the faith that has continued for over a thousand years and to contemplate the ancient Munakata fishermen.
