Introduction: Sanbagoko DMO (Destination Management Organization) is offering an inbound cycling tour for foreigners to explore the area around the Sanbagoko region, spanning the towns of Mihama and Wakasa in Fukui Prefecture. Participants will have the opportunity to visit local attractions such as the Fukui Prefectural Museum of Stripes (Nenkoh Hakubutsukan), a retail store specializing in umeboshi (pickled plums), and more, allowing them to immerse themselves in the region’s culture and history.

  • Location: Fukui Prefecture, Japan
  • Tour: Cycling Tour for Foreign Visitors
  • Distance: Approximately 22 kilometers
  • Route: The tour starts from the guesthouse “Kojokan Pamco” in Wakasa-cho, Kaiyama, managed by Sanbagoko DMO. Participants will cycle around the Mizuki Lake, Sugakoi Lake, and Sanbagoko, returning to the same guesthouse.
  • During the tour, participants will make stops at places like the Urami River, Fukui Prefectural Museum of Stripes, umeboshi retail stores, and sake breweries. Guides will provide explanations about the local culture and history.
  • Tour sales for this year are available until the end of November, with plans to continue sales from March to November in the following years, excluding peak guesthouse periods.
