Promoting Tourism Efforts Across Japan! Ueda Castle, constructed by Sanada Masayuki in the 11th year of the Tensho era (1583), is famous for its approximately 1000 cherry blossoms that bloom beautifully in spring.
20th Ueda Castle Thousand Cherry Blossom Festival in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture
This year’s Ueda Castle Thousand Cherry Blossom Festival has relocated its venue from the former Ueda City Hall parking lot near the entrance of Ueda Castle to the northern relaxation plaza of Ueda Castle Ruins Park due to construction. Numerous gourmet food options are available at the festival. Since the city has several famous flower spots, why not make Ueda Castle the starting point for a city stroll? Additionally, the cherry blossoms will be illuminated as part of the Night View Heritage of Japan from sunset (around 18:30) until 22:00.
