Information on tourism initiatives from various regions in Japan! This event showcases traditional lacquerware craftsmanship. It includes exhibitions of lacquerware, demonstrations by traditional craftsmen, and information on the use and care of Kagawa lacquerware. The glossy black and red lacquerware is popular not only in Japan but also overseas.

The 40th Annual Kagawa Lacquerware Festival celebrates Kagawa lacquerware, which developed with the support of the Matsudaira family, the lords of Takamatsu, during the Edo period. There are five different techniques, producing a wide range of products such as confectionery containers, trays, and decorative shelves. The event features exhibitions and sales of Kagawa lacquerware, with 14 exhibitors showcasing around 1,000 pieces. There will also be live demonstrations by traditional craftsmen and a consultation corner for lacquerware-related inquiries.
