Naoshima is a small island located in the Seto Inland Sea of Western Japan, situated between Honshu and Shikoku. The island is known as a hub for the Setouchi Triennale art festival held every three years and is famous for its various art facilities, including the Chichu Art Museum. On this tour, you will be accompanied by a guide who has previously worked at one of Naoshima’s art museums, providing you with a unique opportunity to explore the diverse art of the island.
The tour generally starts at Uno Port in Okayama Prefecture, located on the Honshu side. It takes about an hour to reach Uno Port from Okayama Station by train or bus. The tour fee includes a one-way ferry fare from Uno Port. The ferry ride from Uno Port to Naoshima takes about one hour. The guide will provide support in English. The approximately 8-hour tour concludes at Miyanoura Port on Naoshima. You may choose to return to the Okayama Prefecture side from Miyanoura Port, or you might decide to stay at a hotel on Naoshima to enjoy more of the island’s art.
